I haven't distributed a Press Release in years, since fax numbers and hand delivery. So I'm looking at distributing a news release but was thinking about trying the free route (see below) vs. the paid route (prweb). I'm not looking for public relations magic, I just want to get it out there and in Google news. The question is do I go for multiple distribution services or stick with just one? PR dot com, PressReleasePoint, ClickPress and maybe Free-Press-Release are all being considered, (despite the last having a $1 charge). Any ideas, feedback or experience?
PRWeb is the best shot but I've had good results from the free services. Try a release with the free services first then, if that doesn't work well, be prepared to pay. It really depends on what sort of publicity you want. Your chances of getting into Google news are probably slim unfortunately. I always go with multiple services for the free option.
I rely heavily on press releases but most of us just don't have the time to do the submitting. I have used Incite Software many times and am very happy with their services. At $20 for 50 press release submissions, its a very cost effective option. Vinod and his staff do excellent work and send you a detailed report when they finish. Once you get the process down its very simple. You write the press release, send him payment via paypal and your information along with the release. A few days later press releases begin appearing. I setup a Google alert so I know when press releases get indexed. If you email Vinod, he will send you the information you need to get set up. In addition to press releases, he can do article submissions and several other services, all at reasonable prices. See: http://www.incitesoftware.com/
Wow! This is the great feedback we get. Thank you so much John. Our press release thread on DP is: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=449334
@albemarle24 :/ that felt like blatant advertising - I don't know why anyone would post a detailed review of someone's services who was never mentioned in the thread (especially since op said he was doing it himself) Anyways with the free method you're bound to get caught up with all the other free releases being thrown out at reporters so it's unlikely you'll get covered but you can pick up a few visitors through the serps if you're selling a product.
Constantly putting out press releases can't be a sustainable form of SEO -surely? I also rely on press releases, but each time I used them they seem to provide weaker and weaker links :S
I think that there is just few free press releases which you can trust and get optimal result. But if you are serious on business you must pay for it to get profits
In my business environment when someone receives exceptional service they most certainly can spend a moment sharing that with others. I consider it basic courtesy, nothing more. Recommendations are an important part of my business and I suspect others feel the same way. I have learned about a lot of good services by reading other people's experiences, here and on other sites. Hopefully my post will help others, just as I have been helped.
