Yes I have been playing poker for a living for over 2 years. If you check my forum you will see others do also. www.eatmystack.co.uk
Yea, iv been living off poker for the last half a year. When i first started i used to lose quite a bit.
The only downside is that in order to get better you obviously need to practise. And your mistakes that you WILL make will cost you money.
Really man you shouldn't be even asking this question. Playing poker online is the stupidest thing anybody can do to himself. Especially the way you asked it... "make money by doing" Poker is not something you should be making money out of, I believe poker is something that you do for fun. You shouldn't get involved deeply, it will get you broke at the end.
I must disagree. There are people who make millions from it. If you know what you are doing and you take it seriously you should be able to make quite a bit of money from it. Dont go over your budget and dont take unwanted risks.
I met a "professional" poker player once and asked him how he could risk his money on a game. He said that investing in stocks, bonds, mutual funds etc. is also risky....all of our economy is based on speculation! So in his view what he was doing was perfectly fine....although I still disagree with that view.
Lots of people make money from playing poker. There are poker tournaments all over the place and people earn lots from it. Of course if you have no experience in playing poker then you won't earn much, and will probably lose all the money/possessions you own. If you are good, then of course you can earn money from it.
I've been playing poker now for around 6 years. Of those 6, 3 of them have been online. I use to play on party poker alot but have since made the move over to pkr.com (Way better graphics and much more fun). As for making money, I never make anything online. At the casino, I can usualy pull in 1 - 200 a night depending on my mood (The better the mood I'm in, the worse I do! Dont ask why)
Lolll.. I tried it once with 888.com and lost $50 since then i never tried it out i play just poker flash games
Where do you play? The site I'm currently on is ridiculous, people either turn and river their flush or river something out with a 4% chance.
This is poker! Every now and then both players will make a right decision and luck will pick the winner. Ok quick review... Sky poker - Sit tight, very very tight because people on there chase most of the time. But when you do get the nuts your patience will pay off. I flopped quads once and after going all in i had all 5 people call me with nothing. Sky is also very slow. PKR - Quite slow, a mix of players... But i no longer play on there after being beaten by quad queens 3 times in the raw that i have found a bit suspicious. Party poker - A classic one. Most online poker players been there. Its nice and quick and i trust it the most but it can be a bit boring. Betfair - My current site. It accepts paypal! I find it easy to bully people out of the pot. Smart aggressive play pays off. They like to fold there. Mansion - Very tight players. I usually just sit tight and play premium hands. Usually make around $150/h but some players would run circles around me. DuplicatePoker - Bullshit. Pacific poker, Euro poker, betonbet poker, poker.com, betfred, ladbrokes - Have various faults with them. Or i simply dont like them. Poker heaven - Quite a strange one. A lot of ups and downs. Fulltilt - I like it! Easy money but not much of it Allstars - Yet to test it properly...
