Over the course of a few days I lost $100.00 at POKERSTARS. Not a big deal, wouldn't mind so much if I sucked at poker, but the bad beats were unreal. Day 1 I lost 3 times to straight flushes, once I had a full house and twice I had 4 of a kind. Today I went all in with the last of my money creating a $70.00 pot with 2 others calling pre-flop. They also went all in. I had KK, the others had QQ and 88, the guy with the 8's won. The worst one was yesterday. I had KK, bet $10.00 and 2 called. Flop came K-K-10. I went all in ($40.00 more dollars) and both called. Turn was a J and river was a Q. What sucked was both of them beat me, one had the Royal Flush, the other a King high straight flush, in fact he had a 6 card straight flush. Imagine finishing last when you have 4 of a kind. Anyways, just ranting, they'd be stupid to fix the game when it's such a money maker anyways, but sure makes me go Hmmmmmm and vow never to play online poker again.
Don't we all vow to never play poker again.. at least once a week? I only play for fun online, or wagers against members of my sites, for in game stakes. Speaking of which we have a few large tables set up for Saturday
yeah the bad beats are unbelievable, i know where you're coming from...runner runner four of a kind to beat ace high flushes are a daily occurance in online poker.. ironically, i havent seen one in real life
After trying online and real world poker I will always prefer the real game to the computer one. You can make good money playing live games if you are an OK player.
wow those four kings are a really bad beat...but if you are a better player than your opponents over the long term you'll make your money back. Everyone has stories like that, as people say "thats poker"
I doubt they are, they'd be stupid to do it because it's already a goldmine, but I have heard the term action flops which are designed to generate more betting resulting in higher rakes but the are a myth and have never been proven. I had a few other bad beats and seen lots more and I am certain that they occur a heck of a lot more online than in real life.
It is true that you will see more hands playing online poker than playing real life games. Odds are therefore greater that bad beats will happen to you but still you can never be 100% sure since it's a program and you're not witnessing the physical deal or people playing. I hear collusion happens a lot in some of the online games.
lol.. i love poker and i do play it online but not to make money as you know any thing run by a computer will not be random. mater of fact is the computer knows who will win the round befor it starts but it could change if the winner was to stop playing half way throw the game. in that case the computer will decide who is next in line to win the game. I have been reading that they do this so that every one in the game gets a chance but in reality its so that the owner can have more control over profits. and yes most poker players are pots and thats where the goldmine is. if the house has 2-3 players as pots on each table just think of the money they would make and people will keep playing as they will think they are real. I could be wrong but i guss i have done my homework on online poker and gambling games hope it helps and good luck next time you play
If you want to play poker online use free bankrolls (see sig!) Also it really sucks losing with four of a kind. I lost once had T-T and opponent had K-K. The flop was TTK so we both went all in. The river was unfortunately another K. DOH!
