hi bob .. i wanna know that what will be the effect of reducing the shipping cost ? as far as i know, the shipping cost is $18 by default. By lowering it, would it reduce the profit ? i know that whatever the cost u set, it's not our profit but the main company's profit. So, now that you r having shipping at $10, do you think that your total commision will be $8 less (do they deduct your commision because u reduced the shipping cost?) If it has no effect, then i think the $18 shipping cost should be lowered. Just to make clear before i sign under you
Wendy is probably ahead of me on this. But I know that people seem to be sensitive to shipping cost so I thought a good incentive was to reduce the shipping cost. I'm a little bit surprised at Wendy's answer and will check it out, because I know that when I offer a discount or a $5.00 off coupon this comes of the profit before the commission is calulated. Or in other word the back end people share in the coupon and all a $5.00 coupon really costs me is $3.00. I had always thought this was how the reduced shipping worked, but I'll have to check. Now to Anthony's question. Normally we would charge $25.00 Canadian -- current $21.00 US -- per month for a site using our secure server. But I'd make a special deal to anyone who is and affilate and only charge them $15.00 US per month.
Ok. Here is the answer from the FAQ and I believe I am correct: "To calculate your commission simply subtract the cost of the meds you sell from the sale price, you keep 60% we keep 40%. If you set the shipping charge to more than, or less than, the normal $18 shipping charge (next day) or ($12 for two day), or if you have Affiliates, or are using coupons, the commission formula is more complicated. The commission formula is (SALE_PRICE + SHIPPING_CHARGE - COST_OF_MEDS - COST_OF_SHIPPING) * 60%. The COST_OF_SHIPPING is our fixed $18 charge (next day) or $12 (two day). " So let say we sold something for $100 and the cost was 50 dollars, and shipping was normal. The the profit is 100-50=50 and the commission is 60% of 50 or 30 dollars. Now lets take the case of my $10 shipping. The sale price is still 100 plus 10 for shipping or a total of $110. The cost of the product is 50 plus 18 shipping. So the profit now is 110-68=$42. And the commission is 60% of 42 which is $25.20. So the $8.00 shipping reduction has cost me $4.80 in commission or 60% of the price reduction.
I did sign up as an affiliate, and in the email this is what they said: The shipping charge is set at $18.00 by default but you can set the shipping charge to anything you like! You can choose between free shipping, fixed price shipping, or charge by percentage of the order value. We leave it up to you. If you set the shipping above $18.00 the difference is added to the order profit, below $18.00 or free the difference is subtracted from the order profit. so perhaps i was oversimplfying in my original statement...sorry for the confussion wendy ps - when I signed up, there is no set up fee for the store
Anthony, You download a template and there is no cost associated with that. You of course need a domain name and you know the costs associated with that. If you host with us then we ask for the first years hosting payment in advance -- $180 -- but we will do all the setup on our server as part of the hosting service. In other words there is no cost for setup.
Bob, I'm still deciding on a domain name so I haven't setup yet and I'll direct this question to you. I have an advertiser who wants to track actions - do we have control over the thank you/confirmation page after an order completes?
I don't think you have direct control although you can setup several levels of coupons and specials that get sent out automatically by the back office. In fact they have a mechanism where they can send a discount offer to someone who has visited the site but not purchased yet. I don't know how they do this. It is brand new and I haven't tried to use it yet. What I've done is used the email address of each buyer and sent them a personal thank you note which includes a coupon or other special offer for their repeat business.
I've thought some more about your question and the answer is YES if you download the XML/SSL templates. In this case the order confirmation page resides on your hosting server and you can modify the code or insert tracking code if you wish. BTW I've now had several new affiliates choose to host their sites on our server. They have all choosen a XML/SSL template and as a result can do conversion tracking if they wish.
Thanks for the recommendation Eclipse. I don't know exactly which of my affiliates are making sales but I have seen a number of affiliate sales go through in the last week or two.
My sites are pharmacy.fabida.net and buy-viagra-online.fabida.net Second site has a great positions in google for "buy viagra", "viagra online", "buy viagra online" and more keywords. How are You promoting Your shop ?
Compar, I've been following this thread since Dec. you mention a $2000/month income figure. How many uniques are you getting to acheive this?
I haven't visited this thread in some time and I apologize. My income for May will be approximately $4,600 US. That is right on the original schedule to achieve $2,000 per week by the end of the year. That is despite the fact that Google hit my site badly in their February updates. My traffic for Your Friendly Pharmacy is about 85 uniques a day and for Happy Meds about 65. But the great thing about these sites is the number of repeat buyers. This is helped in part because as soon as someone buys something, an automatic reorder date is set. When that date is reached the customers are contacted and asked if they are in fact ready for a refill. A very high percentage of these people say yes and the result is that I'm getting orders from people who are not even visiting the site. As to promoting the site I do several things. 1. I continue to build backlinks. 2. I have submitted them to several paid directories and just recently to bCentral. I actually see traffic from Joeant. 3. I send everyone who buys a letter thanking them for their business and offering them a coupon for $5.00 off their next order. They are free to share these coupons with friends or other family members. 4. I am just about to launch a new store at www.corner-drug-store.com. I'm using a first time buyer's coupon on this store and offering Free shipping. 5. I've changed all the titles and added meta tags and made some modification to the on-page content on all the sites -- not true, I haven't gotten around to corner-drug-store yet. I'd love to figure out a method to bring more traffic to the sites. If I'm making this much money with 150 uniques per day think what I could make with a 1,000 uniques per day. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. Hope I've answered all your questions. I'll try and keep a better eye on this thread in the future,
Thanks Bob for all the info so far, can I ask how much time you spent setting the site and what your weekly time spend is promoting it (on average as I'm sure at times you must just sit back and count the pennies)
