Sunchy - it has nothing to do with how "good a guy" you are. I'm sure you play with little dogs, like to watch wholesome T.V. and give flowers to your mom regularly.

But the fact remains: You are selling drugs over the internet from a pharmacy operation based solely on questionnaires. This practice has been roundly hammered by the American Medical Association, the FDA, and numerous others, as utterly unethical and absolutely dangerous.

People have died from overdosing, committed suicide from un-monitored anti-depressant use, and become horribly addicted from painkillers, as the controls are utterly absent.

You may not want to admit it, but it's my belief you are making "Good Profit" from a bad business. The article was not talking about individual sellers, it was talking about the structure of online pharmacies, such as RX Payouts, that sell drugs without a direct, bona fide in-office exam, consultation and ongoing monitoring provided by a physician.

I know of somebody who got Ultrasound exam. Gues how much they charged for about half an hour work, OK put it 1hour at the most?

    I'll help you ..... $1,100.00

I friend of mine fell of a chair and broke some bone in his hip. Man, the hospital charged him $5,000.00 a day, made him stay for 10 days doing a job he says could have been done for half a day.

Doctors are charging outrages prices. Online pharmacies help much more than they hurt people.
Guns are easily available to buy at gun shops and people get killed from those guns. Why don't they ban the sale of guns to anybody if they care so much for people? I'll tell you, it is all about $$$$$$, and self interest. That's what they care the most.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings,

Whats the difference??? You can still obtain most guns quite easily... fill out some forms wait for couple of days (similar to web delivery time) and start killing.

Not in most places. And no kid can click online to get a gun.

Even presuming so - Does this, then, justify online pharmacies?

Guns are made to kill. Pharmacies - to help sick people. All that misuse of medication is craftily used so doctors can get more business. I am not saying that all doctors are like hyenas, there are many out there that would help you for a reasonable price, but how many are the latter ones? I am not looking to argue with anybody. There are many countries in the world that you can freely buy antibiotics without prescription and the people are happy with that. People are educated and ask how to use the medication. And by the way if sombody is determined to hurt/kill himself, they'll find a way to do it with or without prescription.

You write a cogent argument - but it doesn't convince.
People kill people, not guns. Which is why guns are controlled (to the extent they are) - so they don't fall into the wrong hands. Background checks for gun purchases serve the same function as in-office patient visits, when it comes to purchasing potentially dangerous drugs. Again, when it is possible for a kid to obtain their parent's credit card and click on a computer to obtain Prozac, for example, known for its serious dangers, there is a problem. No obfuscation by blaming the costs of physician care can hide the irresponsibility involved in selling dangerous drugs online.

As an aside - doctors are expensive because of the mammoth costs in being a physician these days. Malpractice rates are through the roof (in 2003 alone, malpractice insurance premiums outpaced malpractice payouts by over $6 billion - in other words, doctors are being screwed by their insurance companies; and people are ridiculously sue-happy, at least from what I saw in medical malpractice defense) and a young physician entering the market has a mountain of debt and fixed costs to deal with because of the nature of today's healthcare. Most physicians I have known are decent, conscientous people. They are not out to gouge. They are out to make their livelihood.
