Online payments for a pizzeria?

    Hello all,

I am making a website for a pizzeria and I was wondering how online orders could be made which would be sent to the brick and mortar pizzeria and processed there. Do you have any idea how I can go about finding such software? :)

If you looking for payment processor then this is correct forum.
You should use paypal coz its the most widely owned account plus it can be paid by CC.

The pizzaria should shave a credit card processor already and they normally have options for online transactions. Ask the owner for contact to their processor. You don't want to use paypal as the main option for a brick and mortar store.

So when I'm desperate for a pizza I order Papa John's online. They take credit cards or allow you to specify cash on delivery. You get a confirmation email after you place your order. Their system is probably custom built, but you might take a look and see what options they use, etc.

And as other people have said, it should all go through the Pizzaria's credit card processor. There are a bunch of shopping cart scripts that you could use. I believe Zen Cart is popular, but it may not suit your needs.

You're absolutely correct here. Paypal would not be a good matchup for any retail establishment. It may not be a bad idea to offer it as a supplimentary payment method, but I would venture to guess you would receive 95% of your orders as a credit card payment and not through paypal.

There's a variety of software (off the shelf and custom built) out there that facilitates online ordering like this.

Can you explain a little about how your acceptance currently works? Do you use a POS system, or just a cash register. Will your employees (or a designated one) have easy access to the internet? Are you starting a business or do you have one already established?

Yes, it's very good if you want to run out of business shortly.

Well Papa John's uses the Onosys order platform to process online orders. http://www.onosys.com

You may want to look into the costs with them. There are also a lot of other payment systems that are designed specifically for Pizza restaurants. Google "pizza online ordering system" for other options.

ask your cc processor to see if they offer some sort of online gateway. I know I use first data and they offer B & M as well as online processing. I think your best bet will be to process them through an online gateway.

Here is another thing why I wouldn't choose PayPal for this type of business - PayPal admin system is USELESS, it's extremely difficult to find, manage and refund orders compared to other payment gateways.

Depends very much on where u are located. You might want to look into more localized payments especially if you are not located in the US.
