I really did not know where Batavia was at first shot so here it is :D

Searching should tell you all you need, but your best option as a alternative to PayPal should be Money Bookers. Quite a few people could vouch for that. For CC payments, 2CO is the best, but it charges a one time fee of 49 dollars

2co is technically reseller of your goods and services, authorize.net is for those with merchant accounts.

AS for payments services, if you cant' get own merchant account, most used is 2co, way behind is moneybookers, and the rest far far at the end. It all depends on who will pay to you - ask them what they can use.

Authorizenet.com is an electronic payment gateway (like LinkPoint, Verisign Payflow Services, Yahoo Payment Gateway, 2000charge, etc). You would need a United States merchant account to use one of the above. And for a United States merchant account, you need at least a United States bank account, United States address, and United States phone number.

eTrade has sometimes opened up bank accounts for individuals but most United States banks will not because of the YKYC (you know your customer) regulation. Sometimes, some local banks will have partnerhsips with United States banks so you also might take a look at some of those and ask them

You could also use StormPay. It works exactly like Paypal but it is more lenient in its restrictions.

What I've seen some people who are encountering the same problem as you do is to partner up with someone who has a Paypal account to collect all the sales for him. Of course, that someone must be a very trustworthy person to you.

Be careful with Stormpay, they are not so good. They change their terms often which may create trouble for you.

E-Gold & Moneybookers are two successful online payment processors. I recommend you both.
