I am currently working on my TV shows website and got a few pointers here and there, so i guess i can share them with you: - trailers on youtube and other video sharing websites (A MUST, this can bring you around 100-500 UVs daily for around a dozen or two videos) - Buying adspace on related websites (costs around $20-50 per week, but the traffic brought can spike to 2000 UVs daily) - Social networking/bookmarking websites: Digg, Twitter, Facebook (if your like me and a 500 friends or more ), ... - comments or related blogs (about TV shows: a dozen comments a day will bring you around 100 UVs daily) - and of course Google!!! : you should try to rank high for your keywords, in this case "watch 'movie-name' online" or something like that. If you want to have traffic in your your movie site site you should do Link Building... Like submitting your URL to directories..Social Bookmarking, Forum posting and social media networking... In that way you can promote your site to gain more traffic..
I would add to the large link sites, post on relevant forums and consider adwords. Could you use youtube to advertise? Perhaps show only part of the movies then give visitors a link to your website to watch the enitre movie?
mash240 is right you get backlink to relevant forum...post reviews of the movies...maybe it could be advertise to youtube for the preview of the movie by then it can be link to the your website.
