Online money making methods that DON'T work?

I've tried a number of different money making methods with Twitter marketing, and have come to the conclusion that it's a really poor use of my time. You get some traffic from it, but conversions are incredibly low.

This got me thinking...what money making methods have you personally tried that simply DON'T work?
