How many people here own online games? Not flash games sites - but like RPG games and things like that - does your game profit a lot from virtual item sales - or CPM advertisements?
I have ran and developed online rpg games now for over 10 years. There is a lot to tke into account when running such sites. You don't want to over load it with advertisements (players and PC users are keen to these now a days and less likely to click on conventional ad's) Instead selling them a bonus pack for extra ability or increase there stats faster within the game while keeping a balanced community is the number 1 ways to generate cash from online games. I have 1 site that brings in more then 10,000.00/month and another doing about 2-3,000/month then a bunch of smaller sites that I'm not so much looking to bring in revenue from yet and letting them build up first before offering really good paid options that make about 500.00ish a month There is a great deal of money to be made in online gaming. However doing it smart, and responsible so that not to give a complete upper hand to someone for purchasing in you game and slant a huge advantage towards 1 person or person's in the community. Also make sure that you balance everything so that they can not purchase really big now and never want to or have to purchase again later. Helps for repeat customers and supporters.
