What are your thoughs on online gambling in the USA. I think it can generate a few more jobs, but also make billions in tax revenues. What are your thoughs on the issue.

    My thoughts?

The government can gamble with our money but we're not allowed to? Is this even America any more?

I am not too keen on gambling and I would assume the brick and mortar gambling concerns would soon dominate the digital gambling market. The government might not like it as it would compete with the Lotto.

I don't think it should be allowed for several reasons:

    * Not easy to restrict non adults from playing - with or without parent's consent
    * Very risky when it comes to security
    * Very hard to inspect and monitor by the government
    * Anyone can start their own e-casino and make money, with no capital investment or license

There are many other reasons lots can think of.

    Peace,

    The government can't control it.

I'm definitely for legalized gambling as I think it's a civil liberties issue. I'm no so sure about the economic argument... I think gambling can be a bit of a disease.

What I think is ridiculous is that state lotteries are legal (and ... ran by the state) but betting on poker isn't? That doesn't really make much sense.
