Hi, I would like to build a professional B2B online directory. But if you have read my other thread, sadly you will know I don't really have the time to do it myself, so I'd like to contract out the site building. I have had this idea for years and have got nowhere due to my real job workloads. So if I am to get this built for my retirement hobby, I better get it built soon. I am looking for someone who can build this site for me, end to end, and hand over a working site to me. The online directory will be for niche business services. Businesses wishing to be listed will pay a small fee via credit card payment. (so payment gateway to be setup as well). Rather than many of the crappy directories out there at the moment, this one will have a very professional business like look and feel. I suspect (know), that there is off the shelf software to build this site. I don't want something built (programmed) from scratch. The concept is this. For the Businesses. They will be able to enter their details via a simple template. Details will probably need to be checked/moderated before going live. The template will provide things such as: Business name Field to upload logo Field to upload photos of products, facilities etc. Maybe 3-4 max. Field for contact details Field to list services, probably using those provided in a drop down menu. Field to list office locations/countries. For the Visitor The site needs to be very SEO friendly obviously. Visitors will see a couple of promotional pages, then a very simple process, perhaps using drop down menus, where they select the services they are looking for, as well as the countries, States, Towns etc. The visitor will then be presented with a list of results. When they click on one of the results listings, they are taken to the business 'brochure' page, where all the deatils above are listed for them. It needs to look really good and professional. So whoever can do this work for me will need to: Building Phase. Discuss with me the finer details. Source the suitable 'directory' software. I can pay for that seperately if required. Source the suitable payment gateway software. Again I can pay for that directly once it is selected. Build the site. Test the site. I would also be happy to accept proposals from you for the following: Ongoing Tech Support Ongoing maintenance and tech support for the site. Not customer facing support, just helping me keep the site operating. Upgrades, backups, mainteance etc. Marketing Support Whilst I have some ideas already about marketing this site, I would welcome additional support where it will add value. ie helping increase the registrations/listings on the site. I understand that you will need to know more about the site and its target niche before you can give me a proposal on this marketing aspect. So if you are interested in doing this work for me, please provide a professional proposal addressing my outline above and the following: Deliverables. Confirm precisely what will you undertake to deliver at the end of the project? How will completion be judged Approach. Broadly what software/techniques will you be using? Don't worry, this is not just a trick to steal your ideas. I don't have the time to do it, that's why I am willing to pay someone else. Just convince me you know what you are doing. Timeframe. How long do you need to get this site built, tested and up and running? Payment Terms. What will be the total cost of this work? If proposing more than one stage, please show the costs for each stage. ie building is one stage, ongoing mainteance is another stage. What staged payments will be expected, frequency etc? What additional costs would you expect the project to incur? Software cost estimates etc. How will you be paid? Paypal would be my preferred method, but happy to consider others. Experience. Provide a summary of your previous work in building sites of this type. With customer references if possible. Or maybe your experience is limited to just your own sites? That's fine.
