There are a few resellers on the 2007 databases (and unfortunately many illegal ones) - but for 2008 we re-tooled and re-vamped and increased the database categories from 830 to over 3,700. We also included a 'web site' field for the business records.

This will give the owner of the site a fresh market. We guarantee no one has this 2008 data so you can decide if you want resellers, and if so - what type of agreement you want to make with them.

We are going to sell to the best offer over $500. We want to run this until Friday the 22nd. If we receive an offer we like before that date we will close this thread.

There are a lot of databases that come with the site, so you will need over 10 gb of storage for downloads.

The site WILL NOT run itself. You will need to provide support for prospective customer questions. We get about 10 to 15 a day. Most of the traffic comes from Search Engines and word of mouth. We don't pay for advertising.

You will own all rights to the software and databases that are sold on the site. We have placed a few free scripts from third-parties, and you will NOT own those. These are clearly pointed out. You also receive the domain name.

We wil NOT host the site, as we plan to cancel our servers shortly.

so do you make any money? i won't believe you of course, but humor me a little.

also, will you include info on where you get these databases, how you update them? are there any data-scrubbing scripts included??

i like the idea; just want to get a sense of how to handle increasing/maintaining product. the db part i understand...

We make about $1500 a month on the site. Typically December and January are poor months < $600 a month.

We will provide you with the sources for the data. Most will still come from us, but will only be provided in CSV format. If you want SQL, etc. you are on your own. We will provide everything you need to keep it going.

We are a brick and mortar business, and have sold data to non-internet businesses for almost 13 years. We don't have the time to support online sales.

There is a public source we get some data, and we wrote a program to parse their data. It is written in Python, but it is fairly easy to understand.
