Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone can chime in on any suggestions and feedback on this topic. I have a coupon site which distributes coupon codes for online stores, for eg, bestbuy, hp, etc. It's obviously impossible to gain links in the same actual niche (coupons and deals), due to the fact that all of those sites are competitors...so I suppose link building will have to be done in a different manner. Maybe micro-niche link building must be performed...for example, if I want to rank a coupon page on hotels.com, maybe I need hotel links going to that page. The problem with this is that if you have thousands of stores, it will take forever to target each individual page. One of the largest and most popular site which does this is a powerful PR6 site with a ridiculous amount of stores and over 1 million backlinks to it's name. The majority of links are going to there homepage and the link juice is so powerful going to the subpages causing all of the subpages to rank #1 for there search terms. A lot of there top links are from news articles and such where there link is mentioned. The only reason they're getting those links is because they're number 1 all over google and if a writer is releasing something on coupons, they can just type it in google and find these guys at #1 and mention them as a good resource. For a small site no where to be seen in Google, these types of links are definitely unattainable. So my question is...does anyone know of any methods or ideas on how to promote such a site? Thanks
Just like any other site: forums. directories. True you can only focus on index and one, 2 secondary pages. Focus on those who make sales for you. What script are you running on? ( there are scripts that automatically promote coupons and pages to different sites )
Why don't you try social media? I feel like building any rankings for coupons would be ridiculously hard. Or you could try to make a video, and promote that hoping to gain a small following?
