I recently found multiple charges for $12 each on my bank account under the terms: Reservation Rewards and Shopper Discounts. These two services, which are run by the same organization, do provide the services as promised... but at a price. There have been countless unwary online shoppers whom have fallen victim to these "rewards" programs. You get one FREE month, and after that the charges come flying. They even include their telephone number on the charge. Description for this transaction - WLI*RESERVATIONREWARDS 800-7327031 was less than telling. I finally called the number listed and was greeted by a telemarketer. Without giving out too much information I asked what the company name was and what they do. After searching the internet on this scam, I already knew what to do. The telemarketer that I was speaking with obviously knew what was going on because I didn’t even have to say a word before she started apologizing and offering to cancel the account and also refund the additional $48 that they had charged to the account since August. I thought it was a bit odd that they would do this without putting up a fight, but they did. I had already canceled the debit card with my bank (a bit rash, but I wasn't taking chances). After reading complaint after complaint against this company and its many subsidiaries I’m suprised that they haven’t been sued or shutdown. That's likely why they offer the money back so easily. I called back to ask them to send me a check rather than credit the card back (which they didn't know I had canceled 10 seconds earlier). They said "no checks", then asked if I had closed the account. They've been through this a few times, ya think?? Was told the bank will get the money and cut me a check. We'll see. BTW- My indiscretion came from buying movie tickets on Movie.com DO NOT go for the cash back rewards on that one, which is impossible to understand anyway.
