Online Backup for Files

    Hello DP!

I need a place to store online backups for my client files and for some important personal files. Do you have any recommendations?

I was thinking of just storing files on one of my many hosting accounts, but realized most hosting accounts would not allow this. What is a good place I can upload files for backup where they do multi-site backups?

    Thanks guys!

I have not considered this actually, but it sounds like a good idea. Amazon is pretty cheap and very scalable. Does anyone else use them for backups? How does it compare to using a backup-specific service that probably charges a monthly fee?

Here is the website for anybody else who is curious: http://aws.amazon.com/s3/#pricing

Thanks for the feedback. I have always been curious to how purchasing servers work. I assume you are keeping these servers at an off-site location, right?

Is there a company I can buy servers from and pay some type of minimal monthly service fee for maintenance, electricity, and Internet access?

I would recommend doing automatic website backups daily to multiple locations.

For one cheap website backup automatic solution try Backupalicious or something similar.

Be sure that you don't rely on your hosting company even if they offer backup services because if they have a company wide or server wide issue you could lose both your primary data and your backup data.
