i have a similar keywords: widget, blue widet , red widget. i should create a page for they, but some one tell me better create 3 pages for they, one word one page max boost your rank, but is not most effective.
both works but it depends on how you emphasize those kws, and also depend on your content, just like what rcj662 said..
Each widget is unique and should thus have its own page assigned to it. What I would do though is put them in a single directory on your site and then place the pages for each widget inside that. For example... mysite.com/widgets/red-widget.html mysite.com/widgets/blue-widget.html You can also use directory-style URLs (mod_rewrite is great for this, but can become tedious after a while) if you think it'll help improve the usability and maintenance on the site over time (especially if you switch to a server-side programming language from HTML or change from one server-side programming language to another).
then i start to build backlink to red-widget.html and blue-widget.html ,try to got them top 10, other than mysite.com/widgets? right?
i do not care about workoad, i just care about if it got top10. for highly competitive keyword. is it better to have seperate pages for each one? and more , why do this way? as you know, for competitive keyword, backlink dominateit serp. do this way will make most use of backlink ?
Each page has a unique topic, right? Then of course you'd want to promote each page. But don't forget to promote the entire site as well. Remember the old saying "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" by any chance? Your Web site is the same way, and it overall success is going to depend on just how well you design, develop, market and promote your site, as well as its component pages. It's called work (and considered by some to be a four-letter word) for a reason.
