If the PR0 page has a lot of traffic it could be very useful. At worst I would say no effect, at best I would say you may get traffic from it, and eventually possibly ranking benefit. It obviously isn't going to help your rankings now, but it could in the future.
Non-indexed and PR 0 because it's very new ? Or non-indexed and PR0 because it's banned ? The second scenario : VERY BAD to have a link from.
well then couldn't you just create a banned website and put all your competators on it? I am not sure though it seems more because the pages are barried
I was just joking. The point was you really have no control over who is linking to you so why would you get penalized for who ever links to you doing somthing stupid. I am sure lots of idiots with banned sites link to google or cnn. Just a thought, I could obviously be wrong, I am just trying to get info on the situation from more experienced seo people.
Imagine someone stealing (copy/paste) an entire PAGE from you, and puting that exactly the same content as yours , on his page. You have no control over that right ? Well ... You can get penalised for duplicate content. The only thing you can do is discuss with the owner of that website, to remove your content (involving copyright infringement etc). Your question is similar. If a website that is seen very poor (or extremly poor, in a negative way) links to you ... What can Google see ? That you are realted to that website right ? If he finds more of those cases ... He can surely put you in the "bad neighborhood area" Presumtion only. IMHO.
I don't think a banned site linking to you can do you any harm. The other point is there really isn't any such thing as a PR0 page unless it's too new to have been indexed or it's been banned. If you can find it in Google (i.e., if it's been indexed), then it has some PR. It's just not showing up on the toolbar pr other public PR displays.
