you need to get this post moved out of the link sales category and moved in to a link development area.
You will not be penalized for that. If this is the case, our competitors can easily sabotage our websites by placing our links sitewide and in forums..
I would have said the same until recently. But it really does depend on a few factors besides, as I understand it now. The main factor in ranking (as far as links are concerned) is your link-PROFILE. If sitewides are only a small percentage of your links, you have nothing to worry about. If it's all you've got, it is. Those sitewide links are unlikely to be trusted by google, so they will not bring you a lot of luck in the serps. What would help in this case is to make sure you have: - links from very trusted sites (a few will make a ton of difference) in your topic area. - an old domain that was indexed by google a while ago.
