Hey all, My hosting provider runs Plesk 7.5.4, and I have 10 available MySQL databases. So far, I have only used one, and I want to start using my second. If I fill in the new database name, everything is fine, and I can see the new database. However, when I want to add a new database user, I can't use the user name I use on the first database. Is that normal? Is there a way to add the first user name to the second database? And, a second question: I have a hosting provider who runs multiple sites on one server. In that case, is it possible that certain common database names, such as 'poll', cannot be used because someone else is using them? Thanks in advance!
That might be an issue with Plesk. With cPanel and whatever DreamHost uses it is not an issue. No big deal. If your DB is links, just create a new user with the name of linksuser and assign a password. To your second question the answer is with plesk maybe. Cpanel and DirectAdim prefixs all DB and usernames with the account username to avoid this problem.
