    Problem site: www.writers-guidelines.com

Problem: The online writers' markets top level category isn't displaying as a link, while all other top level categories are.

I thought it might be because I don't have links directly in that category, but the same is true of others.

Any idea why it might be doing that? The direct URL for the category page works fine:

    http://writers-guidelines.com/Online_Writers_Markets/

    Thanks in advance!

Does that happen if you use the default template?

I honestly don't know. I haven't looked at the template files since setting it up probably around a year ago. I just assumed they'd be called by a single function or something, meaning each top-level category would have the same treatment. I'll dig around in there tomorrow and see if I notice anything wonky, and if not, I'll see if the default template makes a difference.

    Thanks!

It looks like you have google adsense code there and it's somehow taking the same space as this category. Template is rendering the 'link' correctly but the google adsense code is the culprit here.

I never would have thought to look at that. I'll remove the adsense in there today and see if that fixes things. Thanks so much. :)

Sure, do share with us if it worked. I used firebug and deleted adsense code and resulting iFrame and it seems to work.

OK. I must be going crazy. Doesn't look like there's any adsense on the site at all. I then thought maybe you meant the sidebar ad for my e-book, so I removed just the ad and then removed the whole sidebar block, and neither made a difference regarding the links.

I'll probably upgrade the phpLD installation for this site sometime soon. Would that likely fix my problem anyway, or do enough of the template files stay the same that I'd probably have the same issue? If I replace all the template files anyway, I may just wait and upgrade. I've never upgraded a phpLD installation though, and with luck with the script recently that'll be an experience to say the least. lol :)

EDIT: Problem solved thanks to posts and PMs from jitendraag - new favorite person of the day. :D
