or you are not planning to continue with the server from next month ?

Our shared hosting account servers are all Core 2 Quad Q6600 servers with a minimum of 4GB ECC Ram and 4x 750GB Hard drives Raid-10. 100mbps port uplinks.

We pay monthly for all our boxes and continue to expand each day.

We will eventually move onto owning our own racks and housing our own servers when the time comes.

See, I am also a host, so I know the trouble for getting money monthly for paying the server fee.

I saw many hosts came with ontime packages like unlimited hoster , shoutserv etc, and they all are went down because of this.

May I see the server configuration, through any scripts like status2k ?

It's marketing.

We are a new hosting company and we want to show and prove to some people that we can be reliable by offering packages for free. Of course, we would love to offer these packages for FREE but that would be simply insustainable. Instead we'll give out these hosting accounts for a small fee to give our company's reputation a bit of a boost.

I'll load up status2k on our newest shared accounts server momentarily.

 

Hmm, thats a good trick. But let me tell you, if you give this package for free, then your rep will be so good, But if you start selling ontime packages, then any experienced webmaster can understand it is not a reliable package plus your rep will be negative.

i dont think so. based from feedbacks from customers, he seems to have a good reputation. all business people have their own style. besides, he's not giving a lot of this accounts, as he said, it's only limited.

 

I am planning to only give away 5 more of these accounts. I do not want to overload my newest server too much. So far about 3 people have PMed me for details and I have given them details on how to sign up and activate the account.

Why bother with this? It's absolutely 100% impossible to give someone 500 GB space and 5 TB of bandwidth, non-oversold, for $10 one-time. Hell, it's even impossible for $100 per month! Sure, you can oversell 495 GB space and 4.9 TB bandwidth, but then what good is all of that? Be warned everyone...

 

You're free to personal opinion but sure, the whole purpose of me doing this is so I can prove to clients ForciumHosting is reliable. As the person above already said, "time shows all! Lets wait.".

Every new company needs a way to start and promote themselves in order to be successful.

as troungster would say, this is only a promotional code..this is not the price forever for all prospective customers. after this, prices go back to normal, as with dreamhost, lunarpages, etc

So you can sell 6 accounts which will use 3000 gb of space at 10.00 one time, that gives you 60.00 one time and this si a 300.00 plus a month server. Let me know how you do it?

But they own the hard ware, and the data center it is a little different.

But he says he don't over sell, so if he would just admit that he is over selling and not expecting everyone to use that much then it might be different. Yes every host over sells to a point.. us included but you have to have the resources behind you to be able to do it.
