One site - Multiple keywors?

OK here is my question, I have one site that is like super strong it ranks on page #2 for computer forum! Very hard term.

Anyways, I was wondering if I have a site that powerful but it is SEO'd for computer forum and such, can I create a sub section like /muscle-cars/ and link to that sub section with muscle car anchor text. Will that take away from the main site in any way?

 

I don't think it will. I assume that the good ranking refers to your homepage and your site has several web pages and your subsection /muscle-cars/ is located at a subfolder and targets another set of keywords.

Your pages shouldn't try to compete against each other by using a variety of search phrases.

 

Don't go for that, as the subfolders are not related to your main content. I would recommand you to start a subdomain for the new topic.

 

I agree Michelangelo. A subdomain is true's best bet. Subdomains don't hurt pr on the main site, and a lot of times they help.

 

I would create a whole other site. You're littering what sounds like a good site with completely unrelated material, I wouldn't even use a subdomain, I'd start new.
