Hi, The situation is like this. I put an addon domain in my hosting. Let say it's www.domain.com. Then I make a subdomain subdomain.domain.com While the www.domain.com path is public_html/domain.com And the subdomain path is public_html/domain.com/subdomain The thing is, when people can go to subdomain.domain.com and also from www.domain.com/subdomain But I just want people to access my subdomain website from the subdomain url and not from www.domain.com/subdomain. Any idea on how to resolve this? Thank you in advace.
You dont make any sense at all, read over your post. Your saying - you want people to access your subdomain, instead of domain.com/subdomain. People should be able to access your subdomain.domain.com once you add it. However, if you add your domain to your cpanel as a parked domain and then add the subdomains - you may have some luck.
Where's the part that don't make sense to you. I don't talk about parked domain, it's an addon domain with content. Yes, of course people should able to access subdomain.domain.com when I add it with cPanel. But I put the path inside the addon domain folder... The thing I want to stress is I want to avoid duplicated content. See, suddomain.domain.com also can be access from domain.com/subdomain Where both actually are same site, but google or other se would not take it that way, and it become duplicated content... MAke sense now?
The whole thing doesn't make sense, theres hardly any details of what you are attempting to achieve. Lets get this clear, are you trying to get the subdomain to redirect to the same content? You dont make any sense again. " subdomain.domain.com can also be accessed from domain.com/subdomain where both are actually the same site, but google would not take it that way, and it becomes duplicate content " You dont make any sense AT ALL. What are you trying to get to work?
Okay buddy, help me to achieve this... I have a webhosting that comes with cPanel This is the structure of the addon domain. public_html/domain.com and I put the folder of the subdomain for domain.com inside it's own addon domain folder like this. public_html/domain.com/subdomain/ Now, because you put it inside the addon domain folder, it also can be accessed from domain.com/subdomain <== But I don't want this to happen. subdomain.domain.com <== I just want it only be accessed from this url. How to do that? Any .htaccess code?
heh, as i said before. Create a subdomain from parked domain, then you dont have this issue. People or bots are only going to see the domain/subdomain if you link it some where, the sub domain should work properly if you have set it up correctly.
