Hi, I am confuse abt site building such as one site with lots off topic or each site with each topic. if i build a site with 10 topic and 1000 off page that is good or 10 topic with 10 site plz help me out from that confusion.
Google likes sites that are focused on a specific topic. You'll rank better if you keep your site based on a niche. Do some research and find out what topics fit together and which ones should be kept separate and you'll find you have better search results.
It can be done, just look at Wikipedia. If the topics are somewhat related, then you can structure the site into categories. example.com/ example.com/planes/ example.com/trains/ example.com/automobiles/ etc. But yeah, if the topics have no relationship, and you have enough content on each topic to create individual sites, then you may want to look into that. Cheers James
If you build a site with more than 1 topic like ezinearticles, then you will need to do a lot of markerting because you are trying to reach for a wider audience. However a nice focused on 1 particular topic is much more easy to maintain and direct traffic to. You will find it easier to rank for the keywords on search engines. But there's something even more important that you need to consider - never keep all your eggs in one basket!
It is important that your site has a distictive theme then you can focus your keyword closely and you also be able to provide relevant information to your visitors. google is big on relevancy so a load of unrelated content is not going to be much good
try to include rich informative content with specific topic, dont misguide google bcoz u have to get good benefit from google search
Personally I am going to start a network which I plan to have multiple different categories and sections for, all on the same site, but I'm sure it would be better (for indexing and rank purposes) to have multiple sites. Hopefully I can have the one site cover all topics successfully, and rank well.
True, but the problem with a one-site-covers-all approach is that it's like jack of all trade and master of none. You can start 10 sites and have 5 articles on each and give more focus to the site which seem to be getting more attention. Eventually you can boost the other sites. With a larger site with multiple topics, you will get confused about what to write and will cover general topics whereas with a niche site, you will be able to target the long tails easier. That's my opinion anyway.
as the title say, its 1 site and 1000 topics. . . I guess this only goes to those article, directory and news sites. But in some corporate site its not advisable.
As freelistfool said it's better for a site to be specific but if you want to do this, I would recommend using Wordpress MU to setup individual blogs for each niche, I know someone who has done this and seen good results, good luck.
I will suggest you to go for just a type of site .. multiple type of sites will just make it all jumble !!
