I found one site having PR5 but the Google backlinks are only 6. There are lots of other site with the same situation and there are some other sites also which are having lots of Google backlinks but their PR is not good enough. What is the reason behind that??
One PR6 link can probably give you PR5 (if there are not a lot other outgoing links on the PR6 site that links to you). I'm not sure if 20 PR4 links give you PR5. The site I'm writing for has only one PR6 link and has PR6. It has PR5 and PR4 links also, though.
Yeah. Those links may be high quality and high PR links. But generally More back links with high quality only provide you the good page rank.
Do consider the domain age of the site apart from considering the back links. Age counts equal to the links. Ex: A site which doesnt have 0 back links also rank in PR5 but have a domain age of 7 to 9 years. so don't forget the domain age.
i thing backlink are not most important for high PR if u do quality onpage work obviously you got high PR
Google update the database so you only see latest back links. There some backlinks that is not trace able at the moment. You try other tools for back links checker like yahoo site explorer and back link watch.
may be the site dropped a lot of links during the update! and also is that the result from yahoo link explorer ?
Excuse me but I think PageRank is all about inbound links. No matter how old is your site or how good your contents is, you won't get a PageRank if you don't have any links pointing to your site. And getting a hundred of inbound links from PR0 sites gives you...yes PR0 too. So to get a good PageRank, you need a good inbound links from high PageRank sites.
Hello, As the view point of search engine terms, if you have Good Page rank back links then Google offer you high page rank because you have good page rank back link to your website. if you have thousands of 0 Page rank back links then it's not good return for your website. so the thing is that if you have less Good pr back link then it's good for you,but if you have low pr back link then it's not good return for you website page rank.
Just to include some input, but many in here have the right idea. PageRank is determined by how many Highly Trusted Authoritive sites with good PR are linking to you. Just as "Website Development NJ" said, if you have thousands of pr 0's coming to your site, you will not gain anything from them, but if you have other sites with high PR linking to you, then yes, you're PR will increase. The domain age is no longer considered in the ranking factors. To be honest, I never really believed it was. There are many myths out there about SEO and this is to believed to be one of them. I've successfully out ranked many sites that have been on page 1 with for many years. Matt Cutts from Google has a write up and video about domain age and how it's not a factor in their algorithm.
