I read in another thread that some guy logged into his 2 different accounts from one I.P. Having 2 accounts is illegal. But What my question here is that what if we use cyber cafes. Say I loginto my account from cyber cafe as I don't have internet at my home. And some other guy also logs into his account from the same cyber cafe and same PC after I go out. Here we both are legal but google will think that we both logged from same PC so will it ban both of our accounts. We don't even know each other. I don't have any situation like this right now But would just like to confirm about this. Thanks.
That would be pretty dumb. Not only may it flag you for having multiple accounts, if anyone else using the same PC later clicks on your Adsense ads it will show up as you clicking on your own ads. As far as public computers are concerned you should stay as far away as possible when checking Adsense.
Means we should have a private PC and dedicated I.P. for participating in adsense? From what you people are telling me it seems like that.
Thanks for your comments as i told before It was not a personal problem but just came to the mind seeing too many threads discussing about this. I will also have to beware before giving it ot my web designer for putting ads on my sites. Otherwise that fool will get himself and me both of us banned from google adsense. Thanks friends for your comments. I think other people will also have to watchout for this kind of holes otherwise they can fall in it and then come crying that they got banned for no reason.
I like to think that Google's fraud-detection is a bit more sophisticated than that. Even in your hypothetical internet cafe situation, I think you'd be OK if you play be the rules. I've logged into adsense in hotel business centers many times. Even if someone does come in behind me, and logs into their account (after I've cleared cookies, logins, history, etc), it shouldn't throw up any red flags. As long as you're not clicking on a ton of ads from that IP, nothing to worry about. Don't you think at the big SE/SEO/Internet trade shows, situations like this happen? I think it's ok to ask a friend "Hey, can I use your laptop to check my adsense real quick?". It's a natural thing, not a big deal. If they really wanted to look into your activities, they'd see that 99% of the time you log on from one IP address, but occasionally you travel, and log on from another. And some other guy may have logged on from the same IP a few minutes later.
Once again... it would be really dumb to go asking your "friend" to share his laptop to check your stats. Adsense is not a toy and should be taken seriously. Google knows that and that is why people get banned, for dumb mistakes like these. Play it safe and check your stats from your own computer.
Thanks fryman. I ordered a dedicated modem with dedicated IP for me. It is just 880 per month and it can save me from getting banned. Bcoz with dialups we don't know who will get this IP next time when I disconnect. Cyber cafes are also risky. But nayway by webistes are mostly webmaster related and in our locality there are only 0.01% webmasters who would visit my site and click on my ads. All my targeted traffic comes from US and Australia. Not many hits from India.
You seriously got a dedicated IP just because you're afraid of getting banned from AdSense? That's going a bit too far.
What to do. I have 22 websites and all have adsense on it. So it is better to get a dedicated IP before some fool just logs in from the public PC into his or her adsense account. And anyway i was going to get a nice connection for myself so earlier the better.
Well if you were gonna get a nice connection for yourself in any case, there is no reason you shouldn't get a dedicated IP. Using public PC's are just a bit risky in my eyes. Normal dail-up would have also worked though.
You see when i use dilaup I get a random IP from a range of IP's then when i disconnect other who dialup get that IP and the chances are slim but then also they might have an adsense account. Who knows. By the way I liked that site of your about webmaster tips and tricks. Nice site and info there. You must be working hard.
Honestly, having a dedicated IP address or not won't help. I run on a network of nearly 9000 people that all use my website(s) and click on Ads. We have a total of about 10 IP addresses and I'm still perfectly okay. Google has sufficient tracking and knows how to distinquish well enough. Paying the extra money for a dedicated IP address, in my opinion, is a waste of your money.
Using a non-dedicated IP is not likely to get you in trouble unless all of your visitors use your same ip and share the same ip pool as you.
