Ordinary 7 is more or less 6T with upgraded hardware like Snapdragon 855. The more interesting sibling is 7 Pro and in the professional version there have been a lot of really nice changes.

We start with a few astounding figures that really have no relevance when it comes to regular daily use. The phone is equipped with Snapdragon 855, 12GB frame and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. In benchmark testing, the phone sweeps the track with many other phones in the market. More specifically, 7 Pro gets 357,757 points in Antutu and in Geekbench 4 gets the phone 3411 in Single-Core Score and 10573 in Multi-Core. All devices with the Snapdragon 855 will get similar results and the iPhone is still well ahead of the Android world. What this means for ordinary users is that the phone will, just like any other flagship on the market, be able to handle everything you throw at it at a bar.

The rest of the specs are a bit more fun. The battery is at 4000mAh which can be charged very quickly with the new included 30W charger that OnePlus introduced with 6T McLaren Edition. The vibration engine has also been upgraded, which many OnePlus fans will be delighted with. The vibration engine now has the opportunity to deliver vibrations with different variations, which is not only nice when you feel properly when you receive a message but also when it comes to vibration feedback in play.

The screen is 6.67 inches in size and OnePlus has finally bumped up the resolution to QHD + and that's not all. The OLED panel also runs the updated 90Hz refresh rate. This makes everything in the phone flow better and you finally feel how powerful your mobile phone is. It is really crazy that the mobile world is so slow to implement higher refresh rates in their mobile phones and we are delighted that OnePlus has finally done so.

One thing that is really nice is that OnePlus gives you control over both resolution and refresh rate. In the display settings you can switch between the resolutions HD + and QHD + and choose between 90 and 60Hz. The resolutions can also be set to auto mode and then the phone will run higher resolution when consuming media and play and regular HD + when navigating with the phone.
