I am busy developing a large project on country specific themes - like history of usa, history of britain, history of china and so on... From a SEO point of view is it better to

    (a) Split it up on individual websites (at different ip's and domain names)

    or

    (b) Have one very informative website that includes everything?

My feeling is tha (a) will yield results earlier. Any comments suggestions will be appreciated.

    These are my views
    A) Individual websites vs Single website
    1) Having so many histories on multiple ips and hosting will cost you a lot as opposed to a single one.
    2) You could have a subdomain for each one on the same domain.
    3) The advantage I see is that you can get backlinks from each of ur website (obviously relevant) So it will help SEO definitely if located on different IP's

In my opinion if you have great content you need not worry too much about backlinks they will surely flow in .. good luck

    Thanks

The content actually is great. Found a host that gives multiple IP's for 50 websites at about $50 per month, so this is not too much for such a project, buying links will probably cost more. Only disantvantage I see is the work that I will have to put in to obtain backlinks from other people. Being niched also has the advantage that they can get into DMOZ easier. I have the one site already up and got listed within two weeks. Thanks for the help.
