one old domain and one new one

    i am launching a new site for my business, where i will be advertising online and off.

    i own several variations of my website, plural, singular etc.

    one domain name is 2.5 years old and the rest are new.

    of course the best sounding name one of the new ones, and this one will be advertised offline

    In order to get rankings faster should I:

    1. Use the 2.5 year old site and 301 the new one to the 2.5 one?

    2. Use the new domain and 301 the 2.5 year old one to the new site?

    Which scenario has the best chance to get me the better rankings faster? If I used the option 1, could i switch the order in a year or so to make the new domain the dominant one and not lose much in rankings?

    Use 301 for new domain and redirect it to the old one.
