my heart is with you. my dog became paralyzed last weekend and that crushed me. I thought she would die but she can live without her back legs. Distraction is the only thing that will help right now. Try and keep yourself distracted and with time your heart will heal from pain into only great memories.

I'm sorry for your loss.. For the most part I've been lucky and my animals have died in old age. Only really bad one was the great dane I had as a kid, he got ran over by an SUV.
That is sad news and when there are other pets in the household they too miss the one that has gone. At least your pet will be at peace now.
