Hi, I've tried to make some money online but had no success so now I'm starting my own site. This is not my very first site, but it's the first one that I'll try to get to generate some real revenue from. Let me know what you think of mp3downstream.com and how it can be improved visually and functionally before I start promoting it. Thanks P.S. Promotion tips are also welcome.
Just a few ideas: Fill up that space to the right of the logo in your header. Get rid of the gray in your body or lighten it up a lot. I might add a cool bg that colorful that goes with music. Put good content on it and promote it correctly(no weak backlinks, add to high pr directories, etc.). you could really get some hits off this site. That's just my opinion.
I've been trying to find something useful to put in the white space but what I've found so far is too big or annoying to use. Any recommendations? The background was lighter at first but it was looking a little bland with all of that gray and white. The orange headers also stuck out too much against the light background. Also, webhostdeals, what do you mean by an adsense site? Couldn't any site be an adsense site?
What he means is it looks like it was a site that was built on a template just for sending traffic for adsense. You need to develop your design further, spend some more time on the details, go look at some of the great sites out there to get some inspiration. A site that has alot of good looking sites is www.coolhomepages.com
um...ok All of those sites on coolhompages.com are geared tward a very specific topic. I'm promoting mostly music and with so many different genres it's hard to get a template to look like one of those 5 star and above sites on coolhomepages. Where would you recommend detailing some more?
billboard.com has a nice layout similar to what you are doing. Your design just lacks visually stimulating elements. Its very stark. Add some wow factor to it, make it more interesting.
Theirs is basically more monotoned tward the body and more colorful at the header and footer .....i still very unsure of what your trying to say....the site at its current state is just something to launch off of and more things will be added later but if there is any specific element on the page that needs to be corrected before going forward let me know....for example the header - that white space will need to be filled in with something and im looking at a possible music news feed
On home page, there are 3 link in the middle section, out of which "YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER" links to Free TV use some logo for header
I think the logo is blah. Don't be scared to be a lil "louder". Also, maybe on the front page, instead of just linking to the things like "converter" "free tv", why not make attractive images that link to them on the homepage body. If it's possible, link to the inidividual chanels from the homepage with images like I'm saying. Just my two cents.
...lol, ok ill see what i can do about the logo the image thing on the front page is something ill deff do and for the individual channels...well i bought this script and its got some code that wont let other people steal the stream source....but idk how to work with it ...yeah i know....i guess it is too many ads....
Well i think it looks pretty good. And yes i know its just starting out and you plan to expand and improve. Some kind of images would be nice , Are you planing on putting mp3s for download? if so you could possibly try puting up pics of the artist. I've seen so many website with all kinds of color schemes. There all working out just find. If you want some ideas for colors. Look up how color affects people. Some colors help people want to click others help to make people just want to by things. Some make people want to leave!!! I recently made my blog just for practice sake. Nothing to serious but i have a pics. Youtube vids. I personally like your logo. Maybe if possible just an idea. You can make the reflection part dark like its a seperate logo. It might help it be more eye catching. I can come up with ideas for days lol. Let me stop now. Your going to do great and your already on the right path.
Updates that are underway: 1. Logo Modifications 2. Pictures for the front page 3. Remove right ad column and replace with a member login/site news and some quicklinks & make left ad column smaller 4. Add individual channel pages so users can save as favorite 5. Fill white part of header with song of the day 6. Independent artists will be able to put up their songs up for downloading with their own album covers 7. do some research on colors Thanks all. The site is down for maintenance(internal updates no visual) at this moment while im writing this but if anyone else has anything to add it's welcome.
Hi again. I've thought about it and made a few changes but I'm not going to worry about the layout until people start using the site. Rmember kids, functionality first. Anyway, as the site grows so shall features and design. Let me know what you think of the current site. The logo is no longer the words but a phonograph.(I know - placement/arrangement is weak but we gotta move on) Also, what features should this site have in the near future. -We've already covered that each TV channel should have its own URL. Anything else?
@ghkgk - i know, its gonna be filled up with links to artists pages later on @blackfish - so just make the articles longer basically with a varitey of words? - i dont know much about keywords - any recomendations for a website that covers the basics of keywords?
