    Hi guys,

I am currently promoting my site and I noticed a huge drop in the SE's for one key word in just one day.

Now I think I have tracked it down to these following sites as they put my link up on and around the date of said SE page rank drop.

These guys signed me up to the 3 sites, they maybe mirrors and hence bad?
    http://www.comeonaussie.com/
    http://www.comeonaussie.com.au/
    http://www.ozgateway.com.au/

Same deal I think they are mirror sites?
    http://www.guideaustralia.com/
    http://www.australia5com.com/
    http://www.findingaustralia.com/

http://www.bust.com kinda unrelated but one of my competitors uses it so it can’t b bad right?

http://helpdesk.man.ac.uk I have asked this site to take my ad down already as it unrelated material.

    http://www.zorkk.com/

    http://www.onlinewebdirectory.com/

So what I am asking is which site should I take my link down from?

    Cheers!

Is your site new? Usually 1 bad link won't hurt your SERPs.

    It usually is something else.

I dont think it is your links that does it. I mean how would the linking on the web look like if you could take out your competition just by linking bad links to them ?

I agree. Google Bombing only works on new domains with 100s or 1000s of links in a very short period.

Well I havent bombed 100s of links only 30 tops.

What if one of my backlinks is a 'bad neighbour' that's banned by google or has some kind of penalty? (mirror sites?)

Only one of my keywords has droped so i figured it must have been one of the newer sites that linked to me (some I have linked back to)?

Or is it coz my site is only 6mths old, and the SE's are randomly rearranging my ranking?

If a website is banned Google will not index it

So Google can't see if there is any link on it ->There will be no penalty

    thanx for the reply.

Do SE rankings jump around alot? like 100 spots or so?

Or is it one of the above links some I have linked back to.

For new sites, or sites that google just doesn't trust quite enough yet, rankings DO jump around a lot. I call it the google yoyo and in these forums you will see a lot of people complain about it. Just make sure you get more quality links to your site and you will be fine eventually.

i think one link drop will not effect so much to your serp. there may be another reason. how old your site? sandbox?

Google says that your opponents can not change your rankings , if this could happen we can add our opponents to that site and drop them from the serps.
This could be something else , maybe sandbox.
