I've read a lot on how you must make a lot of unique and interesting contents. it seems to me that you MUST be able to write A LOT then? doesn't writing take a lot of time? (or maybe it's just me ... )

also, is a website with contents better OR a blog with contents?
    or the same?

    please let me know, thanks.

also. what kind of things do I have to write in order to make people want to read?

I like writing fantasy and romantic fictions.
or videogame fanfics like Final Fantasy.

    will those work?

Writing quality content will take a lot of time, but it is crucial. If you don't enjoy writing, or find it too time consuming - what is it that makes you want to run your own sites?

A blog with good content can be just as useful as a "website" with good content, i don't think it makes much difference.

Write about things that interest you, it will be a lot easier if you write about something you enjoy rather than writing to try and get visitors to come to your site.

Go with what you like to write about. If you are not interested in a topic, it will be difficult to maintain a site on it.
    Bye :)

Write about what you are passionate about. It is more likely that you will find an audience if you do - and you will be more likely to keep at it as well. If you write about something you do not care about, that is likely to shine through in your writing.
I don't think fiction generally pays very well. But if you write well, the amount of visitors may make up for bad ad-targeting (fiction is hard to get relevant ads for).

One thing I've done is browse topics that interest me, and after an hour or so of reading, I write a little blurb about it. Do a search on a topic that interests you. If there are a lot of results, chances are somebody out there wants to read about it.

Correct statement. Writing take a lot of time and this is the main reason a lot of webmasters prefer blog, forum or content management system ( cms ). Combine resources or ideas always is the best solution. :)

It is depend on your targeted visitors. If your main income source is google adsence, blog will be a good option.

Free articles, good, content rich related content is always good. A service is even better, so people will return, traffic will build, and clicks will increase.

Well, to have a webiste, you have to be able to write or get content written by a writer, there is no other way. I guess you can come up witha tool or something that becomes and instant hit. You could also go for one ogf those audio/visual sites e.g. funny videos. These sites do not require much content, if any.
