One man SEO team needs big help!

I will keep this short. I was recently hired onto a multi-million dollar software company to manage their social media and SEO, eventually transferring to the programming dept (my primary skill). They have me doing SEO because they don't have an SEO guy and it would be a good way for me to work my way up the ladder.

I have accrued very casual SEO experience over the last 4 years, but not enough experience to do highly-specialized campaigns. What I've dealt with in the past has been primarily local business seeking to get their site listed high up on SERP for low-competition keywords.

My new company want's a very specific SEO campaign geared for several medium-competition keywords. Backlink profiles and everything. All white-hat, legit.

In the past I have merely made content changes, keyword proliferation, and very basic on-page optimization changes to help their site rank top. That's all that's been needed for me thus far. But now it seems like I'll have to begin backlinking. I know Google has made many changes to algorithms regarding what sites constitute a 'worthy backlink' (ie, no farms), but when I search for more information about this on forums and Google I am presented an overwhelming amount of information about SEO, each site differing in opinion what is 'professional SEO.'

I am a newbie SEO in a professional position, and I need some great help! If anyone has any insight, experience, advice, links and resources to share, please let me know. I am also blessed with a sizable SEO budget, so if anyone knows of any paid services that have helped them (please no self-promotion) feel free to include those as well.

    Thanks so much!

I don't know what company you work for, but there are so many different analytical tools that might be able to help you with this.

I work with Adobe on their digital marketing suite, and we have a program called Search Center that consolidates keywords and optimizes campaigns. If you are unfamiliar with SEO marketing it would be a great tool to help you with the numbers and analysis...

...it takes a lot of the guess work out of what you have to do with SEO.

if your interested...you can email me at maggio@adobe.com and I can send you more information.
