One line ordering questions from the client perspective?

Hello, I am curious of what people think of the ordering systems in use by Optigold users (ourselves primarily.)

I would like to know if the way it flows, what is offered or asked is a hindrance or entry barrier to potential customers.

We are looking at moving to a more modern ordering and ticketing system. Optigold is old, antiquated and has not been updated in years.

As a consumer, what do you like or dislike about ordering systems? Help us make our system better as we seek to change it. Any other hosting companies ordering systems that you like?

Here's what ours looks like now: https://secure.hostdrive.com/hostinglizard/signup-hosting/

    Any advice is appreciated! Thanks.

    Jeremy,

I haven't tried your ordering system, but my clients always look for a shorter way to order. They hate going through many pages to finally order. They want the process to be short and easy.

Thanks for the input. I'd have to agree.. We only have three steps. The problem is the old Optigold ordering system is kinda backwards. It asks for your name/address and CC info before even allowing you to select a product. It just does not seem to flow properly IMO.

While people ordering online they want to feel safe. That is what you should care about.

Your first page look like a Login form rather than a hosting order form.

First try to give a feel of order form. If some one selected a particular hosting plan. Taken them to next page in that first show the plan name, followed by price and ask whether they have domain or to register the domain. Below that ask username , email etc and make the attractive. It look like 1990s design.

Give clarity to the user on looking the page itself all the detail they should get. Your page give create doubt whether the user signing for the plan he chooses and to make it you asking credit card detail before confirming what he / she to purchase.

There's no easy way to change it. You should see what it used to look like. I've heavily modified it as it is.
That's the problem using a defunct product. Again, this is not something that's easily modified. That's why I am asking if others here might think that this clunky old Digital Point Solutions (DP) software might be a real detraction to ordering.

That's exactly what I thought. Thanks for confirming my assertion.
