How is it possible that some companies have one letter domains like x.com when others are reserved by IANA like a.com? /Andreas
whao! i used to think that Minimum of 3 Letters are Compulsory for a Domain Name but that x.com seems to be something weird, it redirects me to paypal site
Because they bought it ages ago, eg. Nissan ownes Z.com. I wish I owned all the 26 L.com domains, they are worth a ton of money! If any of those 1 character domains drop, it is not possible to register them anymore
They bought those domain before Icann stopped registering 1 and 2 letter domains. They are allowed by Icann to keep the domains.
You can still register a 2 letter domain with Enom.tv . I cuurently have Uv.tv for sale in the Sedo.com auction. High bid is only $600. For someone interested in a LL domain, this is your chance. This is a premium .tv domain, however, and has an annual registration of $1,000. Only about 1 day, 18 hours left in the auction. Thanks Frank
Yeah, Enom released those premium names, but from what I saw on their premium list, most of them were overpriced & even they had crappy names classified as "Premium" 2-character .tv names are nice, but the $1k fee is a bit steep IMO How can you have a 0 character name? Please explain.
The domain they register is www.ext and in the world wide web prefix . More about one letter domain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-letter_second-level_domains
That's not a 0 character domain, it's a 3 character LLL.com domain, www.www.com, you just don't type in the 1st "www" just like if you were to type in Google.com instead of www.google.com It's exactly the same domain, just without the "www" infront of it.
lol i dont get how 0 character domains work lol - just .com or .net? but one letter domains are worth a lot - i doubt any ordinary people own any, just big companies to redirect to their own sites
As mentioned in my previous post, there's no such thing as a 0 charaxter domain. See my previous post
