Sometimes they bounce around. I've noticed that bouncing is usually good if it's not in the top 10. Did you do anything different lately?

Could be anything. You need to wait at least 3 or 4 days before you panic.

My main ones often drop for a few days when news items with the same keywords knocks me out for a couple of days.

If you have not changed anything recently, and you are not using "black hat" then don't panic about it just because of one part of one days rankings or you will be picked up by a padded van and taken for a holiday at the local funny farm.

    edited to add.
Well that's what happens sometimes when you buy links to try to manipulate serps .... search engines find out ( or your someone tells them) and they give you a black mark :(

Was they keyword you dropped for the one used in the paid for links ?

Yes, anchors of all links are the same, but I cannot think that only 4 new links from good webs can make any harm

google do have a way to report "paid for links".
maybe another site in the same trade reported you ? or the search engines just found them.
Google do not like people buying DO FOLLOW links at all, as they see it as trying to manipulate the results.

Even so, give it a week see what happens.

Give it a bit of time to see whether your rankings come back.

Fluctuations tend to happen from time to time.
