    Hello,
i have one site which was developed in asp before and now whole site is redeveloped using html but page name and content is same is new design. My doubt is i have old site in asp is already indexed by google now i have uploaded new redeveloped site so i m afraid that google will consider both site as a different site and there is chance to give duplicate content penalty.
i know one solution of this is permanent redirect old pages to new one.but i m confuse that will google consider those redirection as a clocking.i mean, we are showing other pages and when click on that link it will redirect to other pages.so there is a chance to get penalty or not?

    thanks

    I have the same concerns.

I am reloading my site which was a subdomain to a new domain name. I will change the content on the old site a little but bascially I am not sure of the best way to redirect the pages to avoid penalties.

I will delete most of the pages once the new site is established.

I'm afraid I am not very knowledgable on the best way to send traffic from one site the the other.

301 permanent redirect is the solution for you. it should not attract any penalty.

301 redirect is what Google is advising. but you can't use your older domain if you do that.

Redirect your old website with a 301 to your new website.
    And you should be fine.
