one.com only allows 1 year renewals at a time?

I have a new client who has a domain name with one.com.

Apparently with one.com you can only register/renew domain names for a max of 1 year and renewals are only permitted for 1 year at a time.

Can anyone else verify this? My client has already contacted one.com who have said that the maximum renewal period is one year at a time. Seems a bit odd to me seeing that all the registrars I have dealt with allow a max of 10 years.

My client is worried because every year one.com send the renewal reminder just a few days before renewal and she is stressing every year that she wil miss it.

I have advised my client to move the domain out to another more reliable registrar but surely one.com saying " they cant" renew domains for more than a year is ludicrous?
