It will be easier for you to promote it using one big site + advertising + being VERY active on social media sites.
Theres two schools of thought- Google prefers bigger authority sites over the smaller ones BUT if you have all your eggs in one basket and get caught out by an algo update all your earnings can dry up in an instant On the other hand, with several smaller sites you could use different approachs to the link building so that if worst comes to the worst you only lose a handful of your sites. Personally, build the authority sites and the smalller sites and use them to support the link profile of your authority site and you have all your bases covered ^^
Your micro sites should be landing pages with single calls to action pointing to deep links within your large site.
