One big site, or several smaller ones

Which adsense "model" is more attractive to you guys...having 1 main site that generates most of your income, or having lots of smaller sites that earn less individually, but make as much in the aggregate?

    big sites.

the traffic relative to the time spent is on a much higher scale assuming you know what you're doing.

the best thing would be to get a viral thing going on one or two main sites, that way you don't need to invest alot of time and money into it. But if you can make 100 sites making $1 a day then you'll be making $100 a day just like that.

Thank you all for your responses...

As an add on, do any of you see it as more "risky" to focus all of your attention on just 1 site?

No, not if you have a pretty good idea for what the site is and you work hard on it

WaIt...! If you have 100 sites making $1 per day, then you're going to be introuble. First of all, you've got to buy and pay for $100 domain names. The cheapest I've found is $9.00. So, we're talking $9, plus tax for 100 names = $900 plus tax.

Next, you've got to pay for monthly webhosting. The cheapest I've ever found it about $6 per month. So, now you've got to pay $6 per month times 100 website domain names for hosting which comes to $600 per month for hosting!

So, now you're looking at having to pay out at least $600 per month just host your 100 domains. And, if you make just $1 per day on adsense per domain name you earn $3,000 per month.

Don't forget to deduct your at least $600 per month for webhosting!

Now you're down to $2,400 per month --- providing you're good and lucky enough to earn $1 per day - per website.

    Just my thoughts.

Then you have to look after a lot of big sites and pay more for hosting. It's OK if you've got loads of time but if you make loads of money you won't have time to spend it.

The numbers here are a bit of stretch.
I pay domain each for about $7, and put many of my site on a single shared hosting, which only costs me $5 per month. Of course if your site has a huge traffic, you may not be able to rely on budget shared hosting plan, but if you are aiming $1 per site per month, a cheap shared hosting is enough...

Getting a new site to make one dollar a day isn't exactly an easy task. Now imagine having to promote and market 100 small ones. Too much work!

I would go with no of small sites and important thing is that you should rank in top10 in all the search engines for the keywords

And you could buy a Big hosting plan with unlimited domans and you could host your several smaller sites

One big site is a better model. A site that gets steady traffic is bound to increase its traffic over the time. Also, if you start getting traffic to a site, there will be increased chances that you're able to earn income from other affiliate programs etc. Also, its better to put more efforts on promoting one site and get some serious results, rather than distributing your efforts on multiple sites.
