Hi! Last week i saw that one Google PR 9 edu backlinks have to my blog but I'm not created it, then i happy, i think its webmaster issue, i saw that Google search quires, my impression increased around 1000. Unfortunately last Sunday that link again disappeared and my impression again drop around 1000 as previously. So one backlinks can really effect search engine impression? Thanks!
I think there are a couple factors that play a role into backlinks and rankings that I have learned. Here they are and I will try to put them out for you... 1.Pagerank of the pages linking to you. 2.Text of the link that is linking to you contextualization for a search term. 3.Is the site linking your site have any related content at all. 4.Getting back links from different websites / different ip addresses / different class c ip address ranges shows that backlink is from different site etc. 5.How long that backlink has been linking to your site. 6.The link juice of that link that links to your site page. Pages with a ton of links on them and no original content can have a low link juice ranking as well as new websites etc. 7.A link from a page that links like a link farm will have almost zero link juice. Should consider other things also besides back links when doing seo though. Page load time is also very important.
Impression is number of view of ads on your site. I think what happened to your site is matter of visitors that visit your site sent from that edu site and now as backlink that affects your ranking.
Ha!!!!!!!!!! I think your misunderstand what I'm say. If you don't mind "Impressions mean: The number of times pages from your site were viewed in search results, and the percentage increase/decrease in the daily average impressions compared to the previous period. (The number of days per period defaults to 30, but you can change it at any time.) " Visit Google webmaster> then click any website listed in there> Now go to "Your site on the web> Then you can see how much Impressions you have. I think your doing SEO business but never visit webmaster? I think this link will help you http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35252
I guess, the website from which you were getting a backlink was kindof authority website. Such websites have huge traffic and you were getting referral traffic from the link pointing to your website. Now, when the backlink is disappeared, you are not getting any referral traffic which is why your impressions have dropped.
Just check your Analytics account and you'll certainly find that why change appeared up. If you were getting traffic with a keyword than certainly a backlink from PR9 page have huge worth of it else you were getting referrals from there and as now link has removed so you ain't getting the referrals visit and thus down in the traffic.
No buddy every traffic comes Google, not referral. Actually there is no real backlinks, because of its a university website and i saw that i have a link form their home page, so its impossible.
Well that depends on the authority of link, for example if you are getting a backlinks From Usatoday's site offcourse it will drop down or any other website like this, it all epends on the authority and link type for e.g is it do follow or no follow I've writtena bout No follow an Do follow links do check it out at http://seo-linkers.org
if you have a link from google.com home page then it give you lots of impressions and visits, but if it disappeared then you will lost all the impressions.
You've seen the power of a very good link - it sounds to me like it increased the visibility of your site across multiple search results. I'm guessing the link to your main page made that page look more credible to google and so the other pages and content you had looked more relevant to them and got a boost. Then the link went away and the entire site sank back down as a result. Yes, links can be that powerful. Depending on the search results that you're targeting just one good pr3 link might be enough to push you into the top position. Avery
Depends on the keyword, if the keyword is in either medium or low competitive, one strong quality backlink might help to boost your serp to high position
I would advise you to check your Google analytics accounts to see from where you were getting impressions ans from which sources you are losing impressions.
85% come form Google. I think Google webmaster display impression for Google search engine not referring sites.
Dude PR 9 .Edu back links are very much powerful and without any doubt that single link can give you a huge effect. and that happened. but who was it appeared and vanished i don't know
Possibly the website from which you were getting a backlink was an authority website. They huge traffic and you were getting referral traffic from the link pointing to your website. If not then check Google Analytic.
Definitely,,ranking in search engine is highly effected by Backlinks and quality of that.. Thus every link counts in that..
Backlinks depending on how many vistors comes to those loinks certainly influences how many come to your links from them
