Every single article I have on EZA has originally been published in identical form on one of my own sites, and indexed, before being submitted to EZA. The same is true for many (not quite all) of the articles I've written for clients, too.

EZA don't care a fig about "duplicate content". They care who has the rights to it, that's all. It's true that if you publish it yourself first under one name and then want to submit it to EZA under a different name, they'll initially reject it in the (not unreasonable) belief that it may be plagiarised and you don't have the rights to it, but if you're using the same name as the name in which it was originally published, then there's no problem.

It can be on one of your own sites/blogs; it can be in other article directories; it can be anywhere you like. If it complies with EZA editorial guidelines, they'll accept it.

I don't know where this widespread belief that EZA "will accept only original material" arose from, but I can assure you that it's never been true and it still isn't.

You don't need to publish it anywhere else first.

But if you have a site/blog of your own on which you can publish it, why give EZA "first rights" and let their "Adsense-festspielhaus" have your prime link-juice? Whose site do you want to build up most: yours or theirs?

alexa_s is ture about EZA. However, some article website do require you to publish articles on their site first. Like Buzzle.com. And Buzzle is better than EZA in my view. Then what to do. If the first right really matters a lot to google?

My strategy is to write one big old article, and chop it up and break it down into a few smaller articles (3-4). From there, I post the long version on my site, and then publish the 4 shorter articles on ezine.

Once they go live on ezine, I spread them elsewhere, and keep track of where I post what, and how much traffic I receive. I scrub the sites that send little traffic and post more on sites that have a return.

You can get a hell of a lot more readers than Google can ever provide for you. That is, IF you are even lucky enough to land high enough to be even seen.

Just because you do the seo does not mean you will land high.

If the SEO is done well - it DOES mean you will land high - that is the whole point of SEO. This is not to say that all SEO is created equal - you should find someone with proven results. The backlinking derived from articles is a key component to page ranking in Google. High Google placement is still equal to increased exposure and subsequent sales.

It's safe to submit your 1 unique article in all article directory.. But if I were you I'll just submit it in top 10 article directory..
