Yeah, get some user interaction in their, if its a forum or even a comment system thats what i think you should add, nice site.
About long urls: I mean, that most of SEO specialist not advice query string long urls, but I see that Google like this type urls because all important keywords is in url (in title, meta keywords, description and h1 tag too), but they aren't more like spam. About forum idea: This site have forums, but not for english language. May be some english forums will be oppened soon. Thanks for comments!
Well, it is hard to say. Site seems somehow confusing. It has white background which I like, but maybe the problem is fonts, but than again it is Verdana and I like that one the best. Maybe it is just me and the theme Have you tried layout with 2 sidebars on same side? This might help.
