I posted this on another forum and thought it'll be beneficial to share the same here... So once you drive traffic to your site.. then what should you do: 1) Use ppc or seo to get traffic to your page 2) Have a great presell page, also an optin form on the same page (above the fold) 3) The optin heading should be something like "Would you like to receive Free Information about...." 4) Two things can happen here - (a) someone will buy the product straight or (b) they'll optin 5) If someone opt's in they'll be directed to thank you page 6) Once on thank you page let them know clearly to double optin and check for their email but also give them another chance to buy your product. 7) So at this stage you have 3 kinds of folks, a buyer, a buyer who's in your list and a pure listener. 8) Build trust with your listener(email list). Genuinely provide them good information about the product you are selling. 9) They will buy from you if they trust you.
