I have a problem with onboard sound. It was working fine and now the sound has just stopped. Nothing has been changed. I have even tried a soundblaster live card and this also doesnt work. Is there anything I can change in the setup to sort this out?

    Cheers

    Simon.

    XP? I hope!

Are your speakers plugged in to the wall, the computer and turned on?

Right click on the the my computer tab in the start menu then on the properties tab
left click on harware tab, then on device manager
click on the + beside the sound, video and game controllers
and see if anything has a question mark.

You can right click on any entry to see the details or update a driver.

Get the MFG drivers for the sound card and install them.

Also make sure that you do not have your system muted.

I can't tell you how many times the cats jumped on the keyboard and stepped on the "mute" key.

I have seen these crazy cats hit ctrl+alt+del..... yes it is true...
