I believe many of us have disccused which way is better: one large site or many small sites. Here I have one comment on the benefit of one large site When you add the same content to a large site or one of small sites, I believe that large site would be indexed faster and may have a better position in google ranking. In contrast, each small site needs to wait for sometime to be indexed and you are not sure when the content page will be ranked in the first page. From this point, I would say a large site has much more benefit than many smaller ones. by the way, is ther anyone who has experience like this: you post some conent that is not closely related to the topic of your major site. Would this unrelated content still be fast indexed and positioned well in ranking?
So what's the point of your post exactly? Your opinion doesn't change how Adsense works. You can make money with any size site... it's about the value you create for your visitors not the size of the site.
My point here is: would small sites with lower google ranks get worse indexed than a large site if you put the same content on them?
For example, I have a site with 1000 pages and a site with 20 pages. Now I want to add a new page to one of the two sites (this page may be totally unrelated to the topics of the two sites). From indexing point of view, which site you think it better for this new page to be added?
Sites that are frequently updated get pages indexed faster, at one of my sites it's less than a minute, still I add content to the site it is relevant to, I don't care if it take a few days to index the content as long as it ranks well. Also, I believe 20 niche sites with 10 pages each in most cases are way better than a 200 page site about everything.
Your point seems more like a question to me. Are you trying to decide if you should make one large site or just make many smaller sites to make the most adsense revenue?
A number of niche sites can beat one big site... You can have multiple high paying niches and keywords and niche sites with highly researched keywords are easy to rank..
Nice discussions about large number of sites or a large site. But the question is how large? As large as plenty of fish and hot or not. I will go for one site and enjoy my life instead of chasing bunch of small sites. If I'm making $100 from a site, I will go after multiple site instead of trying to take it to $10K
Not necessarily - it's all about the quality. With the right content, a 1-page minisite could generate a LOT more traffic than a 1000-page site with bad content.
It depends on what your goal is. If the goal is to make as much money as possible with adsense, adbrite, bidvertiser etc, then a number of small sites each targeted for a specific keyword or couple of keywords yields better revenue. On the other hand, if your goal is to increase brand awareness and become an authority site in your niche, then a large site is better and you can target each of your pages to a specific keyword. How fast the site is indexed is dependent on many factors- how often the content changes, quality of the content, the quality and number of backlinks etc
I would prefer 20 niche sites than 1 big site. Why? You can experiment with black/white tactics, links buying, links trading, links sharing, etc on one site and gradually move on to the other if it won't affect your ranking. Eventhough caught and got slapped by Google you still other sites to hang on too. But with 1 big site, you're limited with your experiments....you're afraid some tactics could backfire...hence you're scare to experiment... That's just my opinions.
it does not matter, i think.. coz when you already have established websites, even when they're small ones, they'll give you alot of hard cash..
I think its better to have multiple sites but not to jump all at once.... create a site... give it time and make it popular... when u get enough visitors daily then create another one and so on... This is what I am going to follow... there is no point in having 100 sites if u cant manage them well.. for me its a side work and I can manage max 4-5 sites... I am having only one site as of now and idea for second is ready... soon it will be launched
I start all sites small, those that seem to do well I try to expand to target more keywords in the same niche.
Well I guess everyone starts with lots of sites, then pick the ones generating money and get rid of the non-profitable ones. Unless of course, you automated every one of them.
Well, I guess I try with many sites. By the time goes by some of those sites will go bigger as We usually tend to write what We like. So just try with many sites for me. I do have many sites but just 1 become bigger
Exactly...are you here for the money or to actually provide a service. I'm all for both, but do NOT lose sight of the latter! Something that provides a service is better for LONG TERM stability. I've said before that I'd rather have a 1000 clicks a day making only $0.15 per than getting $2.00 per click but only 3 or 4 of those per day and then giving up on the site.
