    I've gone back and forth with this one... To be honest I don't love either way (the new way or how it used to be). Still tying to work out something better.

    i think that would take over the whole page not much good looking ( just a personal thought no offense )
    why not 3 portion distributed design ( am sorry am not a pro ) like one side some live activity of new threads or replies other side personal stuff like messages and etc mid space to whatever :)
