See you have to feature your keywords throughout your website content. One keyword in the URL cannot affect the entire rankings and conversions for you, that’s not how it works. Also, the plural term usually picks up the non-plural term as well.

Now I had a quick look at your site. On the surface it appears that you have optimized your page for a few (repeated) keywords like “whey protein”, “whey proteins”, “whey powder” and “whey protein supplements”. If I come up and tell you that you have not optimized your page for “organic whey proteins”, “soy whey protein” etc although these keywords do have steady searches, would you add them to your page/ url too?

You must target different set of keywords in your product descriptions and meta tags. Yours is a competitive niche. I just ran a quick keyword research on it using “Keyword Country” and got a lot many competitive keyword groups around which you can build content.

With any site, you need to focus your pages around multiple search terms. If you follow this convention as opposed to worrying about singular or plural, you will move up in the rankings as your CTR will improve and your bounce rate will improve. Good luck

Well, this is not going to help you much. You will need to understand that one keyword in the URL (that too a singular variation) will not help with major change in your keywords rankings. When Google looks at your site, it will look into the content, meta descriptions, title tags and not just the url. And you will have to feature your keywords throughout your website.

Probably yours is still a new ecommerce site and you would need other measures to sink it deep into SERP results. Focus on a good backlinking strategy instead.

I checked your website where your keyword "whey proteins" are coming in the 5th page of google. And second one is not shown anywhere .There is not any type of on page SEO problem. If the name of URL is why-protein then there is a more chance to come in search engine. But you won't put all keywords in your URLs ,so you should start off page SEO. Be patience ,it's not a one day process it will take at least 6 months.

@ashutoshseo: I personally think that you don't need to change your URL
There are 200 of factors which effects on search ranking so i don't think this is necessary to change web address. Just focus on creating natural links will only help you.
